Computer randomly freezes..

My computer randomly freezes at time. Nothing works but to restart the computer. I could be watching a movie or playing a game. It just freezes.

AMD P2 X4 965 3.4ghz ( no OC since i thought it was the problem but was not)
ASUS M4A79XTD EVO AM3 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard
G skill ram 8gb
Asus EAH6850
Rosewell 600 watt PSU


Cpu Idel temp is 40ish - 50 at load
graphic card @ 38 while idle

Cleaned the inside - no dust
ran an anti-virus scan - Nothing
Doing PRIME95 test as we speak.

Did you check event viewer for anything?

Possibility of a hard drive issue.

If you booted it into safe mode and just left it on, would it do the same thing?

a freeze will happen if the computer is overheating, is the fan/heatsink on the processor ok??

Also a faulty disk could be causing this, run a chkdsk to check for errors

Just another possibility...I have had this same problem in the past, and discovered it to be a faulty memory chip. You can use one of the free online memory checkers to validate your memory.
