Computer power supply

I just baught a new case with a 420 watt power supply. I havint finished buying all the part for the computer, but i wanted test the case so i plugged it(nothing was instaled) in and turned it on and would would not boot at all? so i wanted to know if it was normal just because no parts were installed, or is the power supply blown?

no its just the case i tried the power supply, and it wouldnt turn on.

OH... Well you need to have the motherboard at least. It has the power and reset switches...

Yeah, You have to have the motherboard in order for it to turn on... cuz that's what i did to mine <_> Waiting for mom to buy the rest in Feb so I just hooked up the pretty lights and whisper quiet fans and just look at it until Feb. <_>
