I am working on my grandfather's Compaq Armada 7800, it seemed simple enough, but the truth is, I don't want to re live the past 6 hours.

The Origional Problem was:

Monitor changed colour when tilted at different angles.
Hard drive was pretty dead.

The Origional Solution was:
Re connect a faulty wire, turn it on.
Throw it in the freezer, and order a 20gb.

The Story:
i brought it down into the garage, and began taking out every bolt there, unclipping every clip, and eventually, laberously pulling off the monitor. The cables snapped like frayed string. I put it back together with a new Solution:

Problem:
Replace all wires heading into the lcd screen, send to a repair shop.
Untested Hd.
less than $80 in my pocket

Solution:
Get a pro to do it, neither of us know how the heck to pull the monitor apart, even in 3 mm of space!

These pics are after I rebuilt it in my bedroom - NO,THAT IS NOT MY HP!!!

What exactly is this post for? I'm confused. And I didn't even think you /could/ order HDD's that small anymore :p

What places are there to repair the LCD?

Hehe... 25gb is probably hitting maxed out for NT 4.0....

My grandpa has it maxed out, ran windows 98, 256mb ram, and, well, after the hd stopped, everything kinda died...
