Alright, this is my revised computer parts list for the computer I want to get within the next year. I will tell you first off I do not need the best computer parts in the world, I need only an 80GB Hard drive because I can fill up only that. I am not a gamer but a multi tasker, I have already decided to go AMD so you can't change my mind, I definitely need 1GB RAM. I want good brands with good prices, I am sticking with my motherboard and want the 64bit CPU. Also integrated sound is what I want as I don't need great quality sound.
Here are the following parts i want:

I know your a multitasker, and only want the AMD, but is it because of this?

"I am sticking with my motherboard and want the 64bit CPU"

You can now get a Pentium in 64 bit, though yeah, it'll probably be too expensive at the moment.

THE LINKS:

I'd help with the other parts, but none of those links work I'm afraid:

We are very sorry, the page that you requested does not exist.

"Newegg.com has been undergoing many improvements recently, which required some pages to be moved. "

:( Could you possibly find them again?

Hope I can help

Yeah, I thought that might be the case. It is pretty expensive because its new, and Intel are pretty expensive anyway :p Though if you could afford it, it probably would be better for you...

Yeah, pretty weird...

Motherboard-Abit av8 3rd eye socket 939 with guru clock - I have that. Great motherboard :) Allows me if I wanted to, to overclock so easily :p

Plus, its good your going for the 3000+. Wish I did and saved a bit of money to get meself a better video card, as the 3500+ which I did get costed alot more for only a small boost (you could overclock past the 3500+ speed anyway)

I know you don't want to play games, so that video card is alright :)

Good system mate!

Thanks! too bad i only have the case, psu and in 15 days or so will have the ram and hdd, its a start.

get on msn in like an hour if ya can, i wants to talk abit av8 3rd eye :)

Nice system. I just upgraded my motherboard and processor to a PCI-express enabled board and an AMD64 3500+ processor. I don't see any real benefit of the Intel processor as of now, if you are into MAD gaming and need the best of the best from what I read Intel is going to out perform AMD, but we're really going to the extreme.

The question is if running Windows XP are you going to go x64? By the avatar I'm guessing you're a nix box man as I once was so what distro are you going to go with. Or should I say distros. ;)

should do you well for what you are wanting to do. May i ask why you want the x64 so bad it will be quite a while before the 64 bit is universal...but i hope you enjoy it. Tell us how it runs.

Well, Ubuntu, WinXP, and Gentoo of course! :)

I just want the 64 bit CPU, I hear its gonna be alot better for longhorn, not to mention the athlon 64 is supposed tobe a great CPU.
