ok i want a AMD (so dont say "No go intel" i have used intel for years i want to use AMD) but i do not know which socket to get and all of that good stuff. does anybody know of a somewhat cheep AMD that is 64-bit?

please look on www.tigerdirect.com because that is where i am going to shop being that one of there stores is like 45 minutes away from me

k well the socket most commonly used atm is 939 so u should get a sckt 939 mobo i like the asus a8n's pretty much all the AMD's are 64-bit i would suggest a 3500+ or better but if that 2 expensive i would suggest bout a 3000+ u could go lower but it wouldn't be much use if it was ne lower than a 3000+ for gaming i would go 3500+ if u do game

I game, and I run a 3000+ 64-Bit. it works just fine. I mean you can't max out settings on games, but it more than enough to play new games and it's at a decent price. I'd say go with it, but that's just my opinion.
