i am a photographer...but i am already set with gear...and i was thinking every now and then i could play something direct x...so since im young (and can't seem to get a job in this town) i was thinking of this setup for Christmas..and wow is stuff cheap

E8400 3.0ghz 6mb l2 Cache $165

Equals out to be $405...which is pretty cheap
ill just reuse my cooler master case (which is awesome) 500watt PSU (reliable)...lite on combo drive..and my sata hd

this would be my first atx mobo :)

so do you think this would help me look into some games like the new Stalker, maybe Crysis on med/low (idc about high graphics really..as long as i can run it smooth it is fun to play)

thanks

Crysis you will definitely be able to run on medium with that set up. Will you be running Vista or XP? If you're running Vista might want to consider upgrading to 4GB instead of 2GB. Biostar makes good motherboards (at least as far as AMD processors are concerned), so good choice on that.

ill run vista just because im actually pretty used to it now suprisingly..and i dont want to do all the mods for dx10 on xp....but yeh i think your right about getting 4gb's...so ill go ahead and look for something in that!
thanks

Corsair XMS2 2x2gb...its at $55 now...not bad!

or maybe
OCS fatality series 2x2gb for $42

ill probably just order whatever has more rebates and is a good company when it comes the time

well thats good :)

i just hope this thing will be managable on my Powersupply
but i think 500watts should do it seeing as i dont have any excessive..and ive done about a million power supply calculators and came out with 380 needed watts
