what digital camera has been shown to take the best video quality?

currently im looking at the Canon SD800 IS, which takes excellent-quality videos suitable for DVD and movie shooting

suggestions?

any/all suggestions MUST take 640x480 video, 30fps minimum.

do any digital cameras take 60fps video in 640x480? < i dont really care, im jw
and this is digital STILL cameras, not DV or anything

just wondering, but why don't you get a proper video camera? After all, most of them take still pictures at high quality too?

If you are looking to take video, look at video cameras, not digital cameras... Video cameras are made for video, but may have other low quality features (such as taking pictures). Digital cameras are made for taking pictures, and probably include other low quality stuff (such as video recording). If you are looking for higher quality video, save yourself the money and headache trying to find the few cameras that do what you are looking for. More than likely it will cost more than a camcorder that take better quality video...

get a high deff video camera if your going to get one
they even have blue ray ones out

i have the cannon SD850 IS and it takes suprisingly good video, it records in AVI format which is a large file size so get a large memory card so you have room for some video clips on it. i got a 2GB card for about 25 bucks.
