if he doesnt know what cpu is better for gaming i dont think khe's going to know what socket he has. and youshowing him that he might n=just run out and buy it. and it would suck if he had a 939 socket.

if im not mistaken the 3400+ only comes in 754 socket which might not be what he has, but i will add to what you said and say get teh 3400+ if you dont have the 939 socket and get the 3200+ or 3500+ if you have the 939 socket

I would say Amd 64 or the P4. I will be the first to say this but the XP 3200+ wouldnt be bad for gaming and its alot cheaper about 40-60 dollars cheaper depending where you buy from. With that saved money you could buy some extra RAM for you computer and boost its performance even more!
