Best GPU for $80?

It is a 2.0 card, though even if your board is 1.0 spec, the card will still function.
I always look at it like this: for screens larger than 22 inches or if you must have maximum everything on every game out, get a 896+. Otherwise, 512MB is plenty fine. Screen size is the main determining factor, second factor is particular game of interest's resource usage. For instance, GTA IV. Took WAY more than 512MB to even get decent graphics.

I owned the Evga 9600GT 512MB and I loved it. So I would say for 85 dollars, that's a pretty sweet deal.
