Audio Sound Help (Microphone)

Hello i just bought a Dynex Noise Canceling Headset with microphone and when capturing with goldwave or audacity its doesn't record the sound. I hooked up the cables and make sure they were in place my speakers are Creative Sound Blaster Live harman/kardon

Please help~

Are they plugged in correctly (speakers in green plug, mic in red)? Also check your volume panel by "double-clicking" the speaker and seeing if Mute under Microphone is checked. If so, uncheck it. Let us know if that helps.

i plugged them into my computer not speakers the back of the computer i unplugged the green for the speakers and inserted the green for headset and made sure the pink/red was plugged in right and all the way in still nothing noda?

Is the mute box under Microphone checked? If you don't see that pane, go to File, Properties and check Microphone in the list. Let us know.
