AMD Athlon 3000+ Retail didn't come with thermal paste?

Hi,

I just bought this item:

and it didn't come with any thermal paste or anything. Does this mean that it has already been pre-applied to the heatsink?

Ok thanks guys Another thing: i dont plan on booting up and setting up my computer until tomorrow (b/c thats when my hard drive arrives), but I really want to start building it now -- does the thermal stuff lose any quality if I just put it on the processor now and setup the whole computer (aside from the HD)...?

No, the thermal pad will not lose quality at all. Make sure you get the CPU on the motherboard first. Then take the paper off of the thermal pad and mount it on the CPU, then securing the retentioners or whatever you call them in place. YOu can get a jump start on that if you wish. I did that too. No loss in quality.
