should i get the 4200 X2 for $240 (after price drop) or should i get a conroe, it would have to be a conroe that is around the same price.. thanks

the conroe model in that price range would be the e6400.

it has a similar clock frequency, so their pretty even their. and since the conroes architechture is so much superior, i would say itd be a good idea to wait for the conroe e6400

thats a a big price drop

i have the 4200.. and i can't complain with it. plays any game i want, and multitasks great. very great

Grab the conroe. I'm a huge AMD guys, but Intel has really out done themselves this time.

The Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 will cost about $244. Runs at 2.13Ghz, 1033 FSB, 2MB L2 Cache and runs on Socket T (LGA775).

Umm, havent you seen anand's benchmarks? Its all up there with the high end X2's.

Conroe.

ownage - it's actually a 266FSB which is then quad-pumped ;)

Yeah, well no one wants to keep saying, "2.4Ghz, Quad-pumped 266 FSB, etc, etc." Takes too much time. That's why you just say, 1066 FSB.
