Default i need help with something that is probably really simple!

i have an old 64 inch projection tv. i want to project my laptop on it but all it has is a vga out. the tv has an svideo and of course rca ins. i purchsed a vga to svideo/rca converter but i cant get it to work. i tried using the keyboard hot key and going into the display settings, but to no avail. can anyone help me? lol

ounce you have done the connections your first goal is to make sure the unit can output to another unit. this will be based on what your graphics card can do. audio is 3.5 to rca. the projecter should be set to the input direct only then the laptop must be out puting to a screen check with a moniter first. now if the converter is doing its job then as long as your resolutions are as they should be they should be ok dont forget its not just a connection but the hertz and resolution if they dont match the frequencies will be of.
