Earphones with microphone to microphone

I have a pair of earphones that came with my new Samsung galaxy Ace and they have a microphone about halfway between the plug and the earphones. I want to take off the earphone part because I'm unable to wear them, that way I just have a little nice microphone. My problem is I have no idea how to do this without breaking everything? Can anyone help me?

I dont think you need me to point where to microphone is but, ya never know xD

That's what I was imagining. Can't you just cut the earbud wires right at the top of the microphone?

Which jack do you use to plug it into to make the mic AND earphone work?

well i havent tried on my computer but i used it on my ipod which is a headphone jack so i would assume its that one
