I wanted to upgrade my PC speakers. I hear Klipsch and Altec Lansing is good. Any suggestions? Pros & Cons?

Logitech is good..they have a set for like 50 bucks that is realllly good.
Creative is also impresive.

Bose is by far the best of speakers out there, if you have the money that is. Logitech is the best compared to altec lansings, and creative. Klipsch and logitech are always compared, especially the z5500s and the pro media's, but, from my ears, when I heard both of them on the same sound card with the same music, the z5500s did a better job of pretty much everything.

I actually went and got the Klipsch 2.1 and i'm very impressed. The thing is loud and crisp. I'm happy.... :D :)

Personally, I think Creative or Logitech is the way to go for general purpose high-quality audio output for computers [now think this through, you are NOT going to use it for home theatre purposes if I am not wrong?]. Well, if you are really serious about sound as to use it as a home theatre system, I'd really suggest a Kenwood system (complete with jamo-styled tower speakers). However, for PC Systems, a good 2.1 system was the old Cambridge Soundworks (now part of Creative) Amplified Multimedia/Computer Speaker System as in this site: http://www.cambridgesoundworks.com/store/category.cgi?category=spk_multimedia&item=c1pcwzzzz . In terms of a 5.1 system with reasonable economy and quality, this Logitech X-530 System should do the job well: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/AU/EN,CRID=2177,CONTENTID=9067 . A good high end speaker system (that would also need some serious $$$) would be either the Logitech Z-5450 Digital or the Creative Gigaworks S700, both of which are approved by THX (the 'seal of approval' for cinema-like sound quality). This is the site for the Z-5450: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/AU/EN,CRID=2177,CONTENTID=10928 and this is for the S700: http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=4&subcategory=25&product=9304
