Why cant i play some games in 1920x1080 Resolution

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 Laptop

My specs are:
Intel(R) Core i7-2670QM CPU @2.20 GHZ (8 CPUs)
8 Gigs of RAM
64bit OS Win7
and my video card is Radeon HD 6770M 2 Gigs GDDR5

I can play some games with 1920x1080 Res with high setting but without
anti aliasing like
dragon age 2, modern warfare 2, total war shogun 2, assassins creed brotherhood, grand theft auto 4,dead island

but in some games i can play on all high but not in 1920x1080 Res cause i lag alot
games like
COD Modern Warfare 3, Skyrim, Saints Row The Third

I can live without anti aliasing but some games that isnt 1920x1080 just look so ugly for me except skyrim

im guessing i cannot play upcoming games as well in 1920x1080
is the problem my Processor? or my Video Card?
and i also think that my processor doesnt have turbo boost i am not sure

i might not be able to reply back very fast cause i am going to sleep already

The simple answer is because it's a laptop. It gets hot and has to cut performance in the more demanding games sooner to protect itself. Blow out the dust and update drivers and see if that helps. As an aside, all i7's have turbo boost.

agreed with ^^^^ Not all games are acceptabile with resoution at 1920x1080. Older games might have a resolution limit set to 1080x720 or less.
