Post a good 2 player PC game

Hey guys. long time sense i have started a thread.

I have just gotten Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition PC Version
it's a game from 2009 but a PC port launched not too long ago. (Great game btw)

The game has excellent 2, 3 and even 4 player capabilities with both keyboard and joypad's.
you don't see that often in PC games today. it's all about online and single player.

I don't own a console anymore (my PS3 got stolen by robbers 2 years ago) and i miss playing with my friends on the couch.
any suggestions for 2 player PC games that can use joypad's?

Samurai Shodown, I enjoyed it.

I heard Street Fighter × Tekken is good, but have not played it.

it has to be 2 player locally on the PC and not over the internet. it also has to support joypad's
else there is TONS of games out there that will match my needs.

I found this list [forums.steampowered.com] that seems to fit what you want. I was surprised to see Civilization on the list. How would that work?

Samurai Shodown is an old series. I loved it, even had a favourite character (Ukyo Tachibana) and bought the character arts portfolio and all that. But I am not sure if the graphics are too old for today's taste.

Civ games are turned based so yeah that would be right. you could have 5 people on one pc on that game if you wanted...lol
