LOL....brought back memories. I remember putting together an 8086 about fifteen years ago just to do it. Had MSDOS 3.1 running. Don't know the answer to your query, but just thought I would throw that in........Ahhhhhh the past......
lol ye im new to the world of indepth computering 
i have taken my hard drive out of my computer and will take it to school and hook it up to one of the coomputers there and use my m8s formating program to format my hard drive lol its an 80gb hard drive its the same size as my notebook and my notebook has 120gb hard drive in it makes you think lol
i just instaled MS-DOS 7.10 onto a 1gb pen drive, i have just looked on the pen drive and it has installed it. i go to boot menu and set it to boot from usb device but then it comes up with a failur message... i dont know why
