Format C drive

Hi everyone I have bought a Panasonic toughbook CF28 running win 2000 and I want to put XP on in but am having a few problems I want a fresh install so decided to format C drive first so went to my computer right click on C drive and it tells me it is not able to perform the task what do I do thanks Chris

Boot from the windows xp installation disk and follow the screen instruction

Hi and thanks for your reply I have tried doing what you suggested but I think it is partitioned as I have 2 copies of xp and one of 2000 on the same computer do I have remove the patition and if so how do I do it thanks

You can't format a disk that you are booted from, that's why you need to boot the install CD.

Do not format drive C, Get the windows XP OEM disks, plop the first one in, boot from startup F12 or whatever, From there it will guide you through out the process
