When trying to add a user to a security group in Active Directory Users and Computers. I recieve the following error: "Object Picker cannot open because no locations from which to choose objects can be found." After clicking ok on that message. Another Active Directory message box opens and displays "Invalid parameter".

I have tried the following:
Microsoft Atricles:
263231 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;263231
258960 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;258960
842715 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;842715
Didnt work.

But in the 842715 article it said that the administrative shares might be the problem. Through this I found that my administrative shares are present but when trying to access them via, \\servername\sharename or even \\192.168.XXX.XXX\sharename, from the local machine I unable to access them, recieving an error "network path not found". but from remote machines there is no problems. I am unable to access newly created shares from the local machine either. The machine cant find its own shares. I was wondering if anyone new a possible solution and if this would be the fix to the error when trying to add users to a security group in Active Directory Users and Computers.

Thanks all,

As Windows goes, Windows 2000 is damned close to be near the top.

Brilliant it is.
