Speeding Up Web Browsing

I've been told that there are programs around that speed up the opening/downloading of web pages. Basically the program remembers the website so as you visit it again it rebuilds the site from memory and hence a "swifter" opening/download.

I'm on 256k DSL, P4 XP. Can I hurry things up? Any clues or is this an cyber myth?

LOL internet explorer does this. If you buy software so it does then you are getting ripped off!!!

Try Mozilla Firefox. It opens them a little faster. http://www.mozilla.org/ If your a leet web surfer and have a 64 bit processor you can install RC XP x64 or wait for XP x64 edition. It has an 64 bit Internet Explorer. Opens pages super fast.

Nah, if you want speed, Opera's the best. It also can run on the IE engine, among other great features. But i still use this FireFox. Try this trick i learned to speed up FF:

Type 'about:config' into the address bar.

Scroll down to and click on 'network.http.pipelining'. Right-click on it and then select 'Toggle'.

Next, right-click on 'network.http.proxy.pipelining' and then select 'Toggle'.

Next, right-click on 'network.http.pipelining.maxrequests' and then select 'Modify'. Type in a number like 30.

Lastly, right-click anywhere and then select 'New > Integer'. Name it 'nglayout.initialpaint.delay' and set its value to '0'.

FireFox should now be faster. Works for me.

You don't want to use Accelerators that don't come with the Browser - they're always very dodgy. If you can't get the speed you want, up the speed.
