audiophiles help?

I have a new 60" TV an need a surround sound setup.
500$ range.
5.1 or 7.1 ect
Blu Ray player included?
Remote rear speakers would be helpful
What should I look for and avoid?
Any suggestions or ideas please post.

unless you have a properly acute ear, you won't really notice the difference between 7.1 and 5.1 sound. Don't know much about systems especially in the states just thought id bring that up xD
