Surveillance from a computer

I am looking for some info and suggestions on setting up cameras and being able to veiw from my computer(wireless). Can this be done? and how? Thanks.

if it was possible to have it play on the computer which it should you you could stream it to the web then you could view it from anywhere in the world as long as the computers on
