Recover encrypted files

I have a bit of a situation. I had some files stored on one of my Haddrives that I encrypted for security reasons. I failed to save the encrption key for recovery, and a short time a go I reformatted my haddrive that windows is on and did a fresh install. Now the files that were encrypted on the other harddrive cannot be recovered.

How can I recover these files, or is it hopless because the admin recovery agents key was erased too from the format. AHHH Help.

I suppose it depends on what encryption program you used, the strength of the key, ect. Try searching on Google. Of course it is most likely breakable, but if it's very strong encryption, your gonna need hardware that normal people don't have (unless you have a friend in the FBI/CIA or something lol).

If some of your vitals files were lost during format you can restore them with data recovery tools. IMHO the best ones are Active@ undelete and Uneraser( DOS based). They can really help you in restore process as they did for me before.
