NOD32 is my favorite but if you want a free program Avast is also good.

I'm still running AVG free version, it still works, it has a small footprint, it is free, it doesn't hog resources.

I've only used AVG and Avast when it comes to free stuff, but AVG is deffinatly the better of the two imo.

mate NOD is not free though there is a free online scan on their site, and I don't think you'll get much help here with pirating and cracking software because it is ILLEGAL

The beta refers to that build which you can see has been superceeded

I know that, but he asked for the free one, and I think that AVG is better than Avast.

If you want to try NOD32 (which I would reccomened) go to www.eset.com and get the thirty-day free trial.

I use this, granted its not free but this program actually does what its supposed to, it prevented an attempted Malware attack, on two occasions.

Just my 2 cents.

If you are looking for something that has to update with signatures all the time, Anti Virus will get you by, until you get hit with a Zero-Day exploit.

If you want something that needs no signature updates then you need Shadow...

It's not free, but...
