Bitcoin

I'm fairly certain the 9700 doesn't support OpenCL as it's a very old card, and therefore won't support any bitcoin mining client. As such, I wouldn't try to set up bitcoin mining with that. If you're really keen on mining then you'll need purpose built hardware to do it.

See https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison for a starting point on which hardware choices are best hash/unit-currency.

I will warn you now though, you have to be very dedicated - run a lot of hardware 24/7 - and join a mining pool, because individually you have practically 0 chance of minting any coins at all. See Bitcoin mining profitability calculator | Bitcoinx to work out just how much this would cost overall.

Hope that helps (I know it probably isn't the answer you were looking for, but hopefully it saves you time in the long run).
