Any special connections needed ?
Is it common practice ?

Actually I had seen that article before I posted my question but when I read it I couldn't figure our how do we need to connect it to a desktop and is there any compatibility issue I want to be sure before buying parts

From the site:

Touch-screen monitors are a bit more complicated than traditional designs, because they are active rather than passive devices. Traditional screens just have to show a picture, whereas touch-screen monitors have to feed information back to the PC. They often do this via a separate USB cable that runs next to the VGA/DVI/HDMI/etc video cable.

Most of the ones i've seen just have a display connector and then usb to pass along the touch info... Shouldn't be too hard, and with windows 10's tablet mode it should 'just work'
