Corrupted Documents

I had to get a new computer as I mentioned in another thread, so a file transfer had to be done, but now I find that there are files corrupted. I counted about 50, but there may be more, and they're most of the Note Pad ones. I don't know if it happened when I tried (unsuccessfully) to do it. or if it was because the technician pulled out the memory stick when it wasn't safe. I tried to recover them with Wondershare, but it doesn't do anything except analyze.

Also for corrupted file systems. If you try it on the storage device that got ejected early it may help.

Now I'm told that it might be an application problem, so that I would have to somehow convert the documents from Note Pad to Open Office.

You can try installing LibrrOffice and open them with that app, there is no need to convert I believe.
