Funnily enough that's how computers tend to work. Luckily having been an electronics engineer in a previous life that is the part that I like about computers. Glad it's working for you but fixing them can be a lot of fun........mostly
Most of them lol but you always get the odd computers where there is no end of problems, I repair a lot of electrical things and have repaired PSU's replaced bad electrolytic capacitors on motherboards I can repair most things electrical providing parts are available.
I have a liking for Windows 98, I've got an old Pentium II which has MS-DOS 6.22 installed somewhere I mainly used that computer for programing IC chips and old PMR transceivers seeing that its just sitting somewhere gathering dust I thought about getting it out sometime and installing Windows 98 on to it for retro gaming, although if I do... I will have to check the PSU as those are known for going BANG when they haven't been used in a long time lol.
