Access not allowed to folders

I have an Acer 5742 laptop running Windows Home Premium. I have a 1 TB internal hard drive, an external USB hard drive and a NAS hard drive.

Just recently I had a hard drive problem causing the OS to fail and so I had to rebuild drive C:\, the OS and the software.

I have just one user (me) and I therefore log on as user and administrator.

Now when I try to access some of the folders on the various hard drives I am told that I have no right to access the folder and that I need administrator permission.

Why is this and how do I overcome this problem?

There is a miracle software simply called Unlocker.

When installed, just right click on the folder or file and choose unlock. Simple as that.
