Hi - planning on replacing my Dell E512 (it refuses to die but...) with a machine using an Intel Xeon Processor E3-1240 v3 Quad Core HT, 3.40GHz Turbo, 8MB. This has no 'on-board' graphics ability like say the Intel Xeon®Processor E3-1245 v3 Quad Core HT, 3.40GHz Turbo, 8MB, w/ HD Graphics P4600. I wonder if this might eventually limit my new machine (graphics card = 2 GB NVIDIA Quadro K2000)? Thanks for any thoughts - Alex.

I don't see why it should limit your Quadro K2000. When the system has a dedicated GPU it will disable the integrated GPU if it's not reactivated by some software like Lucid Virtu or yourself (which will deactivate the dedicated GPU. (not virtu, it is designed to use both GPU's))

It wouldn't be any sort of bother once you install a dedicated card. It's nice to have it on tap in case your card poops out and you have to have your computer to order another card. With out a back up, you're dead in the water.
