A friend of mine handed me a server rack and asked if it was possible to place a sound card within the case. I was looking at the current setup he has and it is running a "Super Micro Computer X5DPE-G2 Mobo." I went ahead and ordered a standard 5.1 sound card from newegg, but come to find out after I received the card, the slot is not a standard PCI, but a PCI-X? I don't have any experience with server racks, this is my first one. Any help on getting a sound card for this machine is greatly appreciated. I thank you for your time!

I purchased the "SIIG SoundWave LP-000022-S2 5.1 Channel Sound Card" from newegg as recommended, but looks like the bracket height was not reasonable with the server rack. I am going to be sending it back to newegg, but was seeing if anyone else had any suggestions on what I need to get to have this run audio out of the server. Any further help is appreciated.

you could get a flexiable PCI adapter
as long as you have a PCI slot
as for mounting............ iono
