Why is my Ping and Speedtest results better on a server that's farther away?

Here's my speedtest results from a close server: http://www.speedtest.net/result/1005811441.png
Here's my speedtest results from a father server: http://www.speedtest.net/result/1005813505.png

Here's my Ping from a farther server: http://www.pingtest.net/result/26835166.png

Is there a way to change what server my internet is on so I can get faster internet? Also, why are the results better from a server that's farther away?

The server your internet is on is controlled by the ISP.

Internet traffic is not controlled by proximity. It depends on what equipment your signal has to go through and what kind of wiring it passes along the way.

The only way to get faster internet is to pay your ISP a more money for higher bandwidth.

Ping is a function of network, which you can't control. However, a T1 will always provide exceptionally good ping. Speed is related to bandwidth and can be increased by changing your provider or ordering higher level of download service speed.
