My dad has a new netbook(MSI Wind U100, as his laptop was too much to carry around:rolleyes: , but when we went through the beginning xp config and that stuff, the moment it got done from rebooting, we noticed no wireless spots were showing up and that both wireless and i think the other is ethernet were firewalled. Ive tried everything that i know of, and still this remains.
I also have an at&t 3800HGV-B if that helps.
My dad's old laptop downstairs gets great wireless feeds from the at&t thing up stairs here.
Help is greatly appreciated.

Lets start at the beginning and make sure the wireless is turned on. There can be a hardware switch (around the outside of the netbook) and/or a software switch (usually one of the Function Keys using the FN button -- like FN-F5).
Also you probably have to use the wireless software that the netbook came loaded with and not Windows wireless software.

ok i turned it on but now it is firewalled.
i dont know what to do.
add a port?
add a program?
WHAT???

I'm not sure what you mean "firewalled".
Aren't all connections firewalled technically...
You can turn off Windows Firewall (but not recommended) or turn off any other program that has a firewall (software that came on the computer).
