Problems running programs

Hello,

my 1st time posting on here so hope someone can help. When i try to download a programme to run it lets me download the program but then will not then actually start to run. Is there some setting somewhere which needs to be activated to let me run the program? I hope someone can help me as i am completly baffled!

What is the program?
What operating system are you running?
Is this a home computer, or a work computer (domain)?

Generally there is nothing that needs to be changed, although you might be experiencing a vista'ism lol.

Hi, sorry i didnt provide more info. Im running on vista home premium. its affected me trying to download a new antivirus program & also downloading & running any software updates for other programs i have. It wont let me download u torrent either. Its my home laptop. thanks in advance
