I know how to make a bootable CD through MagicISO. I know how to reformat A PC, but this is a laptop. Is it pretty much the same?

As in reinstalling Vista. My computer did not come with a reinstallation CD, but the computer says I can make a restore CD, but that isnt going to help me reinstall the OS.
