Ok ive just about finish building my first computer.
Im running vista home premium 64bit. I want to know what you guy use to keep your computer running good. On my other computer i had a lot of problems with spyware and pop-up from ads when i wasnt on the internet. I want to know what programs and other thing to do.

Spybot Search and Destroy for anti-spyware
AVG Free for anti-virus
Hijack This as a last resort if the above fail
CCleaner for cleaning up useless files like cookies, unused registry keys, temporary internet files, etc....

I would also recommend defragging your hard drive, possibly every 2 weeks but you can get by with once a month, maybe even longer.

Yep. That's a good recommendation.

I use this:

AVG
Spybot Search & Destroy
Comodo Firewall
Windows Firewall
Comodo Anti-virus
CCleaner

...on a P4 @ 2.8GHz & 512RAM. So you should be fine.

Ok ive checked all of those out. Thanks. they seem to be what i was looking for. Is there anything else beside programs along the line of disk defragment.
