We have always had a DNS problem. Sometimes we can browse the network and sometimes we cant. The weird thing that just happened was I ran nslookup on my computer name. It gave me an IP address and when i did an nslookup on that ip address it game me some other computer name. Anyone have any ideas.?

Thanks Brent

What kind of DNS server is this, and how's the network setup (eg Computers login to active directory)

Sounds like an evil hacker is already doing DNS spoofing & DNS posioning, hmm, not good. Only joking.

Heres my two cents. Have you tried retrieving any of the various DNS records? AS,A,PTR,HINFO etc...

Have you tried a simple *WHOIS* query on the IP address to see 'who' it belongs to? (besides dns lookup) Also, check out the site http://www.robtex.com/

run the IP address through there.

Again, just my two cents. ;)
