Personaly i love fedora.

Its cool looking and its made by Red hat company (but free version)

ubuntu ubuntu ubuntu, i love it so much better than windows. I set it up like ease on my laptop but was a massive pain on my desktop pc. Just make sure that your wireless card (if your using one) is compatible with ubuntu, just check it out on the ubuntu forums.
