some of the older members may know what im talkking about, but remember those old school message boards where you would have to dial the boards' phone number to view/post? and they were text only?

I am not exactly sure what you are talking about. Did you dial the number, and then say your message? Or was that just a way of encrypting data?

On the old bulletin board systems where the servers had modems themselves and you had to dial into them to exchange data. Obviously only 1 person could connect at 1 time
