how long does it take for google to crawl for a site,as i've justmade my first site and its been over a week and still nothing.

ive been told to type "site:www.and your url" to see if has been crawled, does this work.

It depends, google has to find your site by visiting it from a link from another website so while your site is new and doesn't have very many links it can take alittle while

my site, www.nickscomputing.com got picked up in a few days, because i did things like i just did alot. Just make as many links as you can, put it under ur profile under website, etc. Google will find it.
