8600's and 8500's specs and prices.

Yeah im pretty sure I saw it in toms hardware that the 320mb GTS chugged at resolutions of 1800X****, when at lower it was pretty equal to the 640GTS.

DONT buy the 8800gts 320mb version, i have it now, and im taking it back. It can not run Dark messiah of might and magic at max settings, and i play oblivion with a mod that adds MUCH better textures, and the 8800gts 320mb just doesn't have enough memory. 320 is too small for games now a days, Stalker on max alone uses over 600mb of video memory same with dark messiah, oblivion with the mod uses over 700, i am definatly going with the 640mb version, much much much more future proof. Please listen to me, i know from experience!
(Update)
Just read yer sig nexus, i got the same card, its boxed up as we speak getting ready to be sent back to newegg.

Yeah and I wanna get a 22" lcd or at least a 20.1". So I can use higher resolution, as in 1600x1050 I think, but no games even have that in their settings, even with a big lcd I could still use somethingl ike 1400x900 correct?

The setting is 1680x1050. Some games support it, but the rest theres things you can do to force it to run at that resolution. Almost all new games support that resolution though.

At max details, not a chance. As you can see, my 8800gts 320mb studders at 1280x1024 and max settings on Dark messiah of might and magic. So i 256 would be even worse. Also, it isnt future proof at all.

Well, thats not good, because my 7900gs wont sell for too much and the only option would be an 8900gs or 8800 640mbs. I dont know wat to do now, in any case, I better start saving. My 7900gs does well at 1024x768, with el crappo vista drivers on full settings on bf2142.
