Does anyone know if you have programs scheduled to run, and you place your Vista computer in sleep mode, will the programs still run? Like if I have it scheduled to defrag, do a virus scan, etc., but it's in sleep mode, will it still do it?

What do you mean by sleep mode? From my understanding, thats just where the monitor is powered down, so it would still do its usual tasks.

there is a mode called sleep mode, and it "keeps your session in memory and puts the computer in a low-power state so that you can quickly resume working". (that's the description it says when I pause my cursor over it). It seems like it almost completely shuts the computer off...the fans turn off and everything...you can resume by moving the mouse around.

my scheduled windows defender scan did not run while i had the computer in sleep mode....just fyi.
