keylogged and screwed

re: keylogged storage

Good point. I didn't think about that. But running logs gives you nothing if you don't still do a periodically netstat check, just to make sure. And when I was referring to "computer specialist" I was referring to the responders. I was not using this to name the person asking the question.

Do you not get the concept of logs? When a connection is made or attempted, it's LOGGED which can be viewed at later use. A simple netstat would miss TONS of connections. Thus you won't know every connection on every port that's been attempted.

As long as the firewall verifies its sent by you they will allow it

Wrong. Zonealarm asks permission for things to connect to the internet. It has the application, port, and destination address, and gives you a choice to allow or block it.

Packet sniffing: If a script kiddy could packet sniff, there'd be a lot more at stake then a runescape account. I don't think a person with them capabilities would waste time on a runescape account.

re: logs

I setup logs on my linksys router but they only say the current like 20 seconds before I check them. Is there anyway of saving them offline to review after words. Also, I placed them on a seperate ip address, how do I check them? This is why I don't enjoy logs. Maybe if I could understand how to use them. But the purpose of netstat is to check for current connections. You need to check for current connections to check for a connected keystroke logger.

Why didn't you just start a new thread instead of asking a question in an old one?

cause i'm no familuar with linksys routers, and i was just giving you advice so you'd have a better chance of getting your question answered. why post a question in someone else's thread? that's almost as bad as being off topic.

there's a program out there it's been on the news a few time. If a hacker were to use it they can see every key you type or any body if they know how to use it right or somebody found out your screen name and password and just stoled the items.

Haha I didnt know people still played runescape. I played that game forever. Yes chances are you got it through email. I know alot of people were making fake Jagex emails and sending them out. Did you open anything you figured was from Jagex, or download anything from someone on MSN?
