Keith there is a program on PBS called the antique road show. The staff looks over things people have brought in and gives them an estiment of it's value. Might try finding the show online and see if they have any links to antique dealers in your area that could help you keep from getting screwed.
Bright light from scanners is bad on old paper. It speeds up the decay of the paper. The less you handle the game as a whole the more it will be worth when you find a buyer.
