Hey all,
Its my first post here
Anyway, Im in gr.9, just came to my high school, and naturally in my tech class I started to play around with the computers etc. All the computers run W2k pro, as workstations, and access to the C:\ drive is disabled (through explorer etc.) and your "homedrive" is located on the schools server. Aswell, regedit, command prompt, all the good stuff is all disabled. Fortunately, I hex edited a regedit found on the school main server (good old Search function of windows) and saved it to my homedrive (do not have access to save to the school server) and from there I can enable command prompt, registry editing etc. Also, I've enabled drives, so I can see and have access to the local workstation drive (C:\). Regardless of all this, I am still a limited acount and I cannot do anything such as write to the system32 folder, etc. And many of the policy keys within regedit are "error writing to key".
Is there anyway to gain access to the admin privilages on the local workstation, and perhaps the network aswell? I am doing all of this just for learning experience, I have no intention of doing anything malacious, just interesting, and who can deny that its fun to show off to your friends that you do some cool stuff
Anyway, i hope i dont get flamed for this, im just looking for help cuz im interested in this stuff.
Thanks a lot
Rick
