Im all for Windows, mainly 2000. I havent used Linux, but next time I reformat I think Ill try it out.
I may be called stupid for this, but I dont even know what Unix is.
Call me stupid if you like for this too, but are you able to just reformat a computer with Windows 2000 on it to Linux?

Yes, you'll need to download the distribution of your choice, burn a CD, and then boot from that CD and install the distribution. One of the first steps in that process is partitioning and formatting the hard drive.
