To DoS you need to ...
1.Open up the Comand promt in windows.
2.Type in the following w/o quotes replacing the IP listed w/ victems IP and the "55555" can be replaced with any number between 32 and 65000 "Ping -l 55555 69.69.69.69 -t"
3. Sit back and relax while the person is pinged
::Warning:: This is a continious ping and will not stop untill the comand promt is closed, I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR HOW YOU USE THIS TUTORIAL!

Suddenly I have become slightly worried about your ability to see my IP ... ;)

Would i be right in thinking that "55555" is the port number that would be pinged?

No, 55555 is the size of the packet. 32bytes by default on XP. The larger the packet, the more load. My server takes 12MS to return a packet of 65000 when I constantly ping it!

I tried as you mentioned it, but I don't get a response :).

I just tried it on myself ... 65000, 1ms to return it. :p
