making pages available on the internet

i like making web page (i am an advanced n00b) and i would like to set them up on the internet, but i dount want to pay for some one els to host them or pay for a domain name. i want to host them myself, i have win98 se but i dont like pws, is there any other software out there for download?

www.freewebs.com will give you a free site, i dunno how to host a site yourself though

uhh can u make it using i dunno dreamweaver? im pretty much like a major noob on the subject but i really wanna make my own website cept i never found it n e where. its really annoying
