DIV not linning up top

Best I can tell, I did everything pretty much exactly the way I did on this page:

Yet it works on that page, but not the first link. What's going on?

try floating them both left, also 50% for the width is too wide. It doesn't take into account padding, margins, borders, etc... Try setting both of their width's to 45% and give them both a style of clear: none;

That should do it.

Works even when the screen resolution is at 800w.
